A lavish television adaptation of the Charles Dickens classic. Set during the French Revolution, Chris Sarandon stars as Sydney Carlton, a lawyer who falls hopelessly in love with a woman, only to lose her to look-alike Charles Darnay, also played by Sarandon. When Darnay is captured and sentenced to death, Carlton hatches a perilous scheme to save the husband of the woman he loves. This all-star cast includes Peter Cushing, Alice Krige, and Barry Morse.
