Acclaimed Spanish director Alejandro Amenabar directs Oscar-winner Rachel Weisz in "Agora" (2009), an engrossing historical drama about faith, science, and temptation set in fourth-century Alexandria. Weisz plays alchemist master Hypatia of Egypt, who attracts the love of her slave (Max Minghella) while a Christian uprising causes turmoil around them. Amenabar's film was Spain's highest grossing film of 2009 and went on to win seven Goya Awards, the Spanish equivalent of the Oscar.
