The ABC western drama Alias Smith and Jones ran from January 1971 through January 1973. At the center of it all were two formidable yet pleasant ex-outlaws - Hannibal Heyes, aka Joshua Smith (played by Peter Deuel and then Roger Davis); and Jed 'Kid' Curry, aka Thaddeus Jones (Ben Murphy). When the series debuted, these men received an unusual ultimatum: the governor promised them that if they could go straight for a year, he would forgive all of their prior misdeeds as former members of the Devil's Hole Gang. They agreed, but as they wandered around the Old West, the said promise turned out to be somewhat difficult to keep: many still harbored grudges against them, while others pursued them to collect a bounty. And to top it all off, the men still shared a taste for petty theft, a vice exacerbated when old friends turned up with crime on the agenda and invited the pair to take part. A post-Flying Nun Sally Field made occasional contributions to the saga as female outlaw Clementine. This collection features all 23 episodes from Season Two and the 12 episodes from Season Three. Guest stars turn up here including Anne Archer, Rory Calhoun and Neville Brand, as well as semi-regulars Walter Brennan and Burl Ives.
