"Appaloosa" (2009) combines the best of traditional and modern Westerns. Ed Harris, who directs and stars, plays Virgil Cole, who with his partner Everett Hitch (Viggo Mortensen), roams the West as hired guns who tame towns where lawlessness reigns. Such is the case in Appaloosa, run by rancher Randall Bragg (Jeremy Irons). Cole and Hitch begin cleaning up, but everything gets complicated with the appearance of Renee Zellweger, playing a young widow who captures Cole's heart.  Blu-ray extras include interviews with Harris and screenwriter/producer Robert Knott, deleted scenes, and featurettes, "Bringing the Characters of Appaloosa to Life," Dean Semler's "Return to the Western," and more.
