Richard Fleischer's religious film, "Barabbas" (1961), does a great job in approaching a well-known passage from the New Testament, differently. Anthony Quinn, Silvanno Mangano, Vittorio Gassman and Jack Palance offer unbelievable performances, making this tale one worth exploring. When criminal Barabbas is spared his life, while Jesus of Nazareth is put to death by his people, a life filled with pain and loss follows. Faith, beliefs and the distinction between right and wrong take a front seat in this modern take on an old story.

    Comments about this product:

A " what if" story about a forgotten Bible person. Shows lots of culture of Rome, including life of slave , gladiator and early Christians. Inspiring .
