What's the going rate for a soul these days? As short-order cook Stanley Moon (Dudley Moore) discovers it's seven wishes granted to him by George Spiggot (Peter Cook) a.k.a. old Lucifer himself. Stanley makes the deal in order to win the heart of an oblivious waitress, but soon finds that he has to contend with Spiggot's twisted sense of humor when it comes to granting those wishes. For example, one wish inadvertently leads to Stanley being forced to resist the deadly sin of "Lust," in the form of Lillian Lust, played by Raquel Welsh.The devil is in the details and these details are going to drive Stanley crazy. This is a hilarious send-up of all things holy.
