The theory of evolution has never been so zanily tested. When Professor Peter Boyd (Ronald Reagan) proposes to the Dean's daughter, there's only one problem: her father. In an attempt to win his approval, he adopts Bonzo and sets out to prove "right and wrong" is learned, not inherited. He hires a beautiful young nursemaid to mother Bonzo, but will his fiance believe it's all just in the name of science? This hilarious romp proves some people will do anything for love.

    Comments about this product:

The critics blasted this comedy starring Ronald Reagan! But this viewer went and obtained it.

Can professor Reagan prove learned behavior overcome inherited genes? Professor Walter Slezak loans his chimpanzee for the experiment. Reagan hires Diana Lynn to babysit and teach Bonzo while he is away attending his classes. She came from a farm and oversaw a bunch of younger brothers uglier than Bonzo. Reagan has a secret, his father was a notorious criminal!

Bonzo has moments where Lynn telephones for help. This is wnen his fiancee learns that Lynn is living in his house. Plus, keep this quiet from her father, the Dean of this small college and very opinionated.

Bonzo runs away from home when Reagan gives Lynn a loud complaint. Bonzo loves bright items, like glittery necklaces. He steals a valuable necklace from a jewelry store. The police nab Reagan. Diana ran away too, she could substantiate his claims of being innocent.

Finally, Diana shows up. Bonzo is happy as he cuddles in her arms! She asks Bonzo to do a difficult job. Return the necklace, not yours! When the police are giving up on patience, Bonzo returned the necklace!

The Dean is at his utmost temper, a fellow prison cell mate of his father shows up. His fiancee is still upset about the incident with police. How does Reagan deal with this nasty interview?

Watch the movie and see. This comedy ends as it should, another laugh. I invite you.

One last word, Chimpanzees are NOT monkeys, but apes! Humans are apes, no tails. Monkeys have tails, apes do not. It is like confusing some farm animals. Can you tell the difference between a horse and a cow? A horse has one continuous hoof and a cow has a split hoof. The correct word is cattle for cow. But, our language does not distinguish cattle from herd to singular.

Also, the 1950's experimentation with Chimps was unkind! They belong in the wild. Reteaching them how to be chimp is underway in South Africa. A chimpanzee is very dangerous once it reaches puberty, it kills. They have the strength 7 times a human.
