A crackerjack latter-day bit of Italian "giallo," or crime fiction, "Blind Date" (1990) is a deliciously noir-ish tale of John, a British diplomat played by Andy J. Forest, scheming to murder his wife - a gorgeous ex-model played by beauty Mirella Banti - with help from Mary Lindstrom, playing his alluring mistress. Their plot, however, unravels disastrously when John finds himself on a hit list and with time running out in which to save his own neck. Snared with betrayals and blackmails, this sexy thriller by cult director Antonio Bonifacio is a worthy, edge-of-your-seat homage to the 1970s heyday of Italian thrillers.
