French New Wave icon Jean-Luc Godard made his feature debut with the crime drama "Breathless" (1960), starring Jean-Paul Belmondo as an irresistible thug who is on the run after murdering a police officer in cold blood. In Paris, he finds solace in the arms of Jean Seberg, a lovely American who sells newspapers on the Champs-Elysées while aspiring to be a journalist. While he tries to convince her to run away to Italy with him, the police pressure Seberg to double-cross her lover, leading to a gripping and emotional stand-off.
