Frank Sinatra and Shirley MacLaine brighten the screen in the classic "Can-Can" (1960). Nominated for two Academy Awards, "Can-Can" also stars Louis Jordan, Juliet Prowse and Maurice Chevalier. Simone is the energetic owner of a Parisian caf and relies on the help of her cooler-than-thou boyfriend, Francois, in attempting to prevent the cafe from being closed by Paris law enforcement. The authorities are opposed to Simone performing the can-can for her customers, particularly when the dance is outlawed by French lawmakers. Packed with extravagant production numbers and toe-tapping show tunes performed by the legendary Cole Porter, "Can-Can" is a visually pleasing extravaganza.
