These 3-discs contain five of the ground-breaking films from Norwegian director Chantal Akerman, whose intensely personal investigations of the cities and people during the 70s in the U.S. and Europe was strongly influenced by the experimental film scene in New York city at the time. Her films pushed boundaries and have had a wide impact on filmmakers at the time, and still do to this day. The five films included are "La Chambre" her 1972 silent short film, "Hotel Monterey" silent and beautiful with a running time of 62 minutes, "News From Home" is a French language montage of images of New York with letters by the director's mother read over the scenes, "Je Tu Il Elle" (1978) is the first feature film, sexually charged staring Akerman, and finally "Les ezdez-Vous DAnna" (1978), which is possibly Akerman's most in depth human piece about a woman detached from herself and the world around her.
