As the Cheyenne chiefs played by Ricardo Montalban and Gilbert Roland lead their starving people from the government imposed reservation in Oklahoma to their home in Wyoming, the government sees this act of rebellion as a threat. Featuring performances by Carroll Baker, James Stewart. Edward G. Robinson and Karl Malden. Filmed on location in Monument Valleyand captured beautifully by cinematographer William H. Clothier, it is one of the heralded director's most ambitious efforts.
