In the eerily plausible science fiction thriller "Colossus: The Forbin Project" (1970), a supercomputer designed to control America's nuclear defense system becomes self-aware and decides to rule all of humanity. Eric Braeden's computer designer brings the Colossus supercomputer on-line, which begins to collude with its Soviet counterpart to control the Earth and resist all efforts to shut it down. This Cold War cautionary tale directed by Joseph Sargent also stars Susan Clark and Gordon Pinsent.

I agree that the movie should be released in its full theatrical format. What are they waiting for? There is a large group of people who would buy this movie if it were released in its proper format.

            Comments about this product:

I love this film. It is engaging, it is nearly realistic, and the actors bring a professionalism that I enjoy. It should have been Eric Brayden's break out role, but somehow it just wasn't.
But the heartbreak of this release is that it is pan-and-scan. I HATE pan-and-scan. I want all the film, all the image information, all the background, all the action that the director filmed. I think it is a TRAVESTY that a 70mm film gets trimmed into a 32mm box. It makes me crazy, and I cannot recommend this release to anyone.
But I love this film. Someday someone at the studio will wake up and realize that this is a wonder of its time and deserves a much more robust and sympathetic release.
