Otto Preminger was in the director's chair for "Daisy Kenyon" (1947), a love-triangle tale that's rife with the shadowy lighting and expressionist camera work of 40's-era film noir. Joan Crawford plays the title character, with Dana Andrews and Henry Fonda as her two love interests. Based on the Elizabeth Janeway novel, "Daisy Kenyon" is a perfect vehicle for Crawford, who was near the top of her career (and her acting skills) in the late 1940s, and presaged many of the Crawford roles to come.
