After striking out with his big dreams of quick cash in the oil fields of Central America, Joe Beck finally strikes gold in the form of an unexpected $200,000 inheritance. All he has to do is sail to the States to collect his windfall, but there are others on the fog-shrouded steamer who have their own plans for Joe - to kill him, assume his identity, and steal his money.
