Daphne Laureola DVD
Step into the world of "Daphne Laureola" (1978) and meet its heroine, the raucous and free-spirited Lady Pitts, played by Joan Plowright. Loud and outspoken, Plowright's character is a bon vivant who drunkenly can enthrall and enamor anyone willing to listen to her. In this case, it happens to be a young Polish emigre, who coincidentally meets the vivacious woman at a restaurant and is promptly invited back to the home of her husband, played by the exquisite Sir Lawrence Olivier. In the couple's presence, the man learns about a great deal about desire and love. Adapted from the stage, the film is an exceptional example of English theatre and a testament to the talent of its great cast.
