Richard Linklater's "Dazed and Confused" (1993) is an affectionate look at 1970s youth culture. The all-star ensemble cast includes Wiley Wiggins, Parker Posey, Ben Affleck and Matthew McConaughey. Set on the last day of school in 1976, the beer-blasting, pot-smoking Texas high-schoolers celebrate the arrival of summer with freshmen hazing and a keg party. The era's fashion, hairstyles and music create a fun backdrop, with period pop songs providing the soundtrack for the characters' lives, such as Aerosmith, Alice Cooper, War, Peter Frampton and Lynyrd Skynyrd.
