      Comments about this product:

Tyrone Power leads an all star cast in this emotional, beautifully realized story from 1946. The Razors Edge concerns a young man Larry Daryl, who is back from WWI and who has been forced by his wartime experiences to question his life and his happiness. He cannot settle down as if nothing extraordinary had not happened. The beautiful Gene Tierney is Isabelle, the wealthy girl who wants nothing more than to have Larry back, taking a lucrative job so that she can marry him and settle down. Larry 's search for a meaning to life takes him all over the world and we see Isabelle and others in their circle catching up with him in Paris and elsewhere. Beautifully realized and beautifully acted, The Razors Edge is a story that is as meaningful today as it was when it was written after WWI. A mature, lushly romantic and ultimately emotionally rewarding movie experience. The supporting cast, especially Clifton Webb as Isabelles wealthy ex -Pat uncle, are wonderful.

          Comments about this product:

This amazing flick released in 1946 tells a story that you would expect to have most likely been told in the late 60's. The USA's soul-searching and our questioning of traditional values (all stemming in part from the VietNam war and the conflicts it created in our culture)are exactly at the core of this movie, only this story's timeline is World War I and the roaring 20s'. Its message is timeless and I believe it can be a great shared family experience to watch (kids 13 and older) as it prods one to think about fundamental issues in our society and the pressure to conform. In the end, it teaches that its OK to think "outside of the box" and that life is a never-ending learning experience. One of my 2 or 3 favorite movies ever.
