Award-winning actors Alan Alda and Ellen Burstyn (in an Oscar nominated role) play a couple who embark on a 25-year adulterous love affair in "Same Time, Next Year" (1978). Based on the play by Bernard Slade, a chance encounter at a California country inn perpetuates a twenty-five year love affair between a New Jersey accountant and a housewife. Meeting for one weekend getaway each year despite their marriages to other people, the two define their love as a commitment of soul mates as the story chronicles the evolution of their relationship.
