Description
This TCM Greatest Classic Films Set includes these four great films:

Flying Down To Rio
Their first film together! Chorines soar on airplane wings, Vincent Youmans' bright score lifts spirits even higher, and Fred and Ginger steal the show with "The Carioca".

Roberta
Fred and Ginger sing "I Won't Dance", but their feet probe otherwise in a tale of Parisian high fashion and hijinks. The largely Jerome Kern score also includes "Smoke Gets in Your Eyes". Irene Bunne and Randolph Scott costar.

Follow The Fleet
All hands on deck! Irving Berlin's songs include "Let Yourself Go", the high-stepping "I'm Putting All My Eggs in One Basket" and the elegant "Let's Face the Music Dance".

The Story Of Vernon And Irene Castle
The Fox Trot. Castle Walk. Texas Tommy. Maxie. They're steps to stardom as Fred and Ginger portray the early-1900s icons who were King and Queen of the Ballroom.

      Comments about this product:

Purchased to look at Follow the Fleet. Harriet Hilliard who was later known as Nelson of Ozzie and Harriet fame sings And Where Are You? in the film. Lucille Ball has a cameo. I discovered Harriet Hilliard song when I listened to Leon Redbone's latest album, also a serendipity discovery. This is an example of movie making of a bygone era with incredibly fine singing, dancing, but not much plot.

Those looking for a dark reflection on human misery should take their custom elsewhere. This is unashamedly light entertainment at its best. Predictable? Perhaps, but what amazing music and DANCING.

        Comments about this product:

I use the product on my flatscreen TV. I enjoy watching expert dancers. I appreciate the work involved from the choreography to the cinematography involved, let alone the costuming. There has never been a duo more suited for one another who have danced on the big screen.

          Comments about this product:

To the now elderly who grew up to these films, seeing them again will give them an instant surge of pleasure.

The younger generations should become familiar with the best-loved films of their parents and broaden their own musical horizons.

There are some films in this series whose comedy would mostly be found by newcomers to be low and predictable. But you won't notice after the singing, dancing, and comedy start.
