    Comments about this product:

The great King Vidor wanted to make a film that would last two weeks in New York(movies only lasted one week at any theatre). This film ran for TWENTY-SIX weeks in New York. This is a wonderful version of the film, with heartbreaking music by the great Carl Davis.

King Vidor said he was thrilled when WWI vets would come up to him and tell him that's just the way it was!

Wonderful performances by John Gilbert and the beatiful Rene Adoree -- a great love story!

      Comments about this product:

This was the first movie about WWI. It showed the social response to going off to a "Quickie" war with the "parade" out to the training, "parade" out to the battlefield, and the "parade" back to the hospitals with the wounded and dead. The social and emotional effects of war on the US, France and the soldiers are shown in a realistic way with wonderful cinematography. The scene with the French lover frantically searching for the hero as they go out the battlefield has not been matched in any other movie for presentation and excitement.

I am satisfied..But the only thing, and it may have been my error,I thought that I was ordering
this movie with the 74 page booklet that went it...
But as far as the movie,it was "picture perfect"

            Comments about this product:

A silent film of GI's in France during WWI.
90% of war film about them chasing a French girl.
Bad acting and this is not a war film.
