Doris Day, the most popular female motion picture star in history, made her television performing debut headlining this heart-warming comedy series, which ran on CBS-TV from 1968-1973.The Doris Day Show stars the beloved actress-singer as Doris Martin, a widow raising two young sons on the farm of her father Buck Webb, played by Denver Pyle (The Dukes Of Hazzard). James Hampton (F-Troop) portrays handyman Leroy B. Simpson. Doris eventually moves her sons to live with her in San Francisco, where she works at Today's World magazine for editor Michael Nicholson, played by McLean Stevenson (M*A*S*H). Rosie Marie (The Dick Van Dyke Show) is seen as co-worker friend Myrna Gibbons. In the last two seasons, Peter Lawford portrays Doris' boyfriend, Dr. Peter Lawrence, with John Dehner and Jackie Joseph appearing as Doris' new boss Cy Bennett and office confidant Jackie Parker.Among the many guest stars featured are Tony Bennett, Andy Griffith, Meredith Baxter, Van Johnson, Larry Storch, Bob Crane,John Astin, Ricardo Montalban, Alan Hale, Charles Nelson Reilly and Henry Fonda.
