Hugh Marlowe and Joan Taylor are tasked with creating a weapon that can put an end to a seemingly indestructible race of aliens in "Earth vs. The Flying Saucers" (1956). Earth has 60 days to surrender or be annihilated in this sci-fi classic, and the tension runs high! Stop-motion animator Ray Harryhausen did the legendary special effects, including the famous scene in which flying saucers descend on the Capitol. Battle for the human race with this 2-disc version of a classic!

    Comments about this product:

Growing up in the 1960's, My best friend and I every Saturday would watch Science Fiction Theater on TV. All the old Universal horror movies like Frankenstein, Dracula Etc. and Creature from the Black Lagoon, Them and Godzilla to name a few, we could watch over and over. But those early Ray Harryhausen movies, It came from Beneath Sea, 20 million miles to Earth, Etc., fascinated me the most. My favorite one of all was Earth Vs the Flying Saucers. The plot grabs at the beginning and never lets you go. The stop motion special effects speak for themselves, but in my opinion the sound effects that go along with the "Ray Guns" are outstanding and can be easily overlooked. And the fact that a city other than Tokyo is destroyed only brings the movie closer to home. Thanks Ray.
