Legendary director Ridley Scott helms this tender British-set romantic comedy starring Russell Crowe and Marion Cotillard based on the popular novel by Peter Mayle. Crowe plays a ruthless, workaholic London investment banker who cares only about making money. In his ascent to the top, he has forgotten the life lessons imparted to him by his favorite uncle, played by Albert Finney. But when his uncle dies, Crowe inherits a Provence vineyard where he spent much of his youth and turns a cold calculating eyetowards the estate, only to spend time there and reconnect with what is truly important in life. This widescreen release is a breezy departure for both actor and director, marking a welcome and highly entertaining change for both.
