Laughter and crime go hand-in hand in "Here Comes Trouble" (1948), the third installment of Hal Roach's Laff-Time 'streamliners' - short-length feature films in the military-comedy genre popularized in the early 1940s. William Tracy and Joe Sawyer return as Doubleday and Ames - army buddies who get into their fair share of trouble. Now as civilians Doubleday, who has a photographic memory, becomes a newspaper reporter, while Ames joins the police force. True to comedic form, the heroes to become involved in a search for a valuable missing diary. Silent screen star Betty Compson costars in this military romp.
