All the fun Mel Brooks had at the expense of classic horror movies in "Young Frankenstein" (1974), he directs at Alfred Hitchcock suspense films in the brilliant farce, "High Anxiety" (1977), now on Blu-ray. Brooks heads a psychiatric clinic where everybody - led by Harvey Korman - plots against him. Shades of the clinic in "Spellbound," the mansion in "Rebecca" and the cliffside house in "Suspicion" abound as he is chased by scary birds, attacked in the shower, and must deal with a mysterious blonde (Madelein Kahn). To top it off, Mel sings a lovely tribute to Frank Sinatra - something even Hitchcock could or would not think to do. Cloris Leachman also stars.
