A condemned murderer is set to be executed. He is also about to blab about who had hired him for the hit when a poison dart fells him on the spot. Another treacherous dart kills his moll, played by Iris Adrian. The action continues to bounce back and forth as Ricardo Cortez, the assistant district attorney, and Joan Woodbury, his attractive, newspaper-reporter sidekick, try to locate the mystery murderer. Is he an official? Or could it be one of the other prisoners? This is a superior whodunit, thanks to clever co-producers Maurice and Franklin King. (1941)
