John Ford is renowned for his sprawling period pieces and the 5-disc "John Ford Film Collection" assembles a quintet of the prolific director's finest work. "The Informer" (1935) stars Victor McLaglen as man who sells out his best friend for the promise of a new life. "Mary of Scotland" (1936) features Katharine Hepburn as the doomed young queen of the Scottish Isles. "Cheyenne Autumn" (1964) stars Richard Widmark and James Stewart in an epic tale of survival and courage in the face of impossible odds. "The Lost Patrol" (1934) finds Victor McLaglen as a soldier forced to take control of his stranded squad after his superior is killed in the desert. Finally, the military courtroom drama "Sergeant Rutledge" (1960) casts Jeffrey Hunter as a cavalry officer defending Woody Strode as an African-American soldier accused of rape and murder.
