The horrors of war can last long after the battles. WWI soldier Joe (Timothy Bottoms) finds this out when he wakes up in a military hospital as a quadruple amputee who is also rendered mute, deaf and blind. Trapped in this shell of his former body, the only escape Joe can find is looking back on his life in happier times. But those memories are bittersweet as he now only wishes to end his suffering. A poignant drama about a war's aftermath.
