Physical comedian extraordinaire Danny Kaye can't control his dummy in "Knock on Wood" (1954), a hilarious send-up of the thriller "Dead of Night" (1946). A ventriloquist hoping to get his head straight, he goes to see a shrink, played by Mai Zetterling, but not before the doll in question winds up with a secret weapons blueprint in its head. Now the ventriloquist is in way over his head, as he tries to navigate a raucous world of spies. This zany musical features the music of Kaye's wife, Sylvia Fine, and a great performance from David Burns.
