James Cagney stars as a silent film legend Lon Chaney in the thriller "Man Of A Thousand Faces" (1957). Chaney is an up-and-coming vaudeville talent born to deaf parents. Falling in love with Cleva Creighton, played by Dorothy Malone, he hires her as his assistant and takes her as his wife. Still pursuing his talents, Chaney and Cleva give birth to a son whom Cleva shuns, her inner demons driving her away from her family. Success leads Lon to Hollywood where he finds love again with Hazel Bennett, played by Jane Greer. Their happiness dwindles when Cleva returns.
