    The Real Martian Child Featurette
John Cusack graduates to more adult roles with "Martian Child" (2007), an inspirational, but whimsical comic drama about an unconventional family struggling to stay together. Cusack plays a widowed science fiction writer who adopts a young boy (Bobby Coleman) claiming to actually be from Mars. With the help of Amanda Peet, his quirky girlfriend, and Joan Cusack, who plays his on-screen sister as well, he tries to overcome the death of his wife and incurable writer's block with his strange but special child. Oliver Platt also stars.
