Hell hath no fury like an artist scorned. "Max" (2003) stars John Cusack as Max Rothman, a promising young artist who lost his arm in World War I. Unable to paint, Cusack opens an art gallery catering to modernism. He discovers another war veteran and struggling artist named Adolf Hitler, and encourages the frustrated painter to channel his emotions onto the canvas. But success in the art world does not come quickly enough for Adolf, who develops an interest in public speaking, tragically changing the course of world history. This chilling film was directed by Oscar-nominated screenwriter Menno Meyjes.
