Acclaimed filmmaker Fritz Lang created a futuristic world unlike any other in his final silent film, the cinematic masterpiece "Metropolis" (1927). Restored in 2010, "Metropolis (The Complete Metropolis) (Two-Disc Special Edition)" includes more than 25 minutes of newly discovered footage and presented in 5.1 Stereo Surround sound. A visionary interpretation of the subordinated and de-humanized 21st century, the story follows the son of an evil dictator who opposes his old man's merciless rule over city laborers. The disheartened workers then find hope in a vibrant young woman. When she preaches of brewing relieve for them, her influence evokes a mad scientist to clone her and spearhead a revolt.
