Jealousy, passion, and the wild frontier. "Mohawk" (1956) tells the tale of Jonathan, a reckless painter from Boston sent to the Mohawk Valley in the 18th century to paint landscapes and portraits. But when he falls for a native Iroquois woman, her jealous lover and his spurned fiancé become deadly enemies. When racial tensions between white settlers and the Native Americans reach a fever pitch, can Jonathan find justice amongst the violence?

Comments about this product:

To call this historicaly inacurate would be stating the obvious, but this is part of its charm. The greatest features in this video are Rita Gams' "gams" and a bevy of Mohawk babes. I cannot expect much for the very low price of this dvd but would willingly pay more for an upgrade from the blurry, grainy, and faded duplicate of this film, but I am sure a digital restoration of this "classic" at UCLA is not in the cards
