Tom Hanks stars as a man who has it easy for a while, in the Garry Marshall dramedy "Nothing In Common" (1986). Tom plays a successful advertising executive trying to choose between two beautiful women when his mother (Eva Marie Saint) walks out on his father (Jackie Gleason) after thirty-five years of marriage. Now Tom is caught in the middle, tending to his dad's medical needs and serving as his mom's confidante. He begins to see a complexity inhis parentsthat is new to him and his appreciation of them grows during the difficult time. The film also features Bess Armstrong and Sela Ward as the girlfriends and contains Jackie Gleason's final performance.
