Acclaimed Japanese director Shinji Aoyama ("Eureka," 2000) uses Akira Kurosawa's "Stray Dog" (1949) as inspiration for this noirish sci-fi story. As in the earlier film, he follows the efforts of a detective out to stop a series of murders committed with his stolen gun. But Aoyama's film is set in a dystopian future where hope is fading for the human race and everybody seems to be obsessed with something. "Audition" (1999) star Ryo Ishibashi is the detective, with terminally ill scientist Kazuma Suzuki (2000's "Tokyo Trash Baby") as his quarry. Includes expert commentary, director interview, more.
