Commissioned by the Nazi government to film the 1936 Berlin Olympic Games, documentarian Leni Riefenstahl fashioned a mesmerizing tribute to athletic grace and beauty, while juxtaposing the Olympian spirit of Ancient Greece to "the ideals of NationalSocialism."
