"On the Double" (1961) features Danny Kaye in a hilarious World War II comedy. As a foot soldier preparing for D-Day, he is caught imitating an English general. In order to confuse the Nazis, he is instructed to continue the ruse. When the staff is hoodwinked into thinking he is the general, things get tricky. He even convinces the general's wife, but when the real general is killed in battle, problems arise. In this classic mistaken identity comedy, it is hard to tell who is who, and who is pretending.
