Pasolini 1 DVD
Pier Paolo Pasolini is back, pushing aside all social convention to tackle issues of hypocrisy and sexuality in Italian society. "Pier Paolo Pasolini Collection, Vol. 1" (2003) includes three of Pasolini's often-shocking films. First, "Love Meetings" (1964) follows Pasolini investigating of sex in Italy. Next, "Oedipus Rex" (1967) retells the classic myth of Oedipus, who unknowingly murders his father and marries his mother. Finally, "Porcile Pigsty" (1969) follows two stories: first, that of a medieval cannibal, and second, that of the son of an ex-Nazi living in contemporary Germany. Pasolini never fails to fascinate in these twisted social commentaries.
