Now on Blu-Ray, "Quo Vadis" (1951) delivers a vivid portrait of life in the decay and depravity of ancient Rome when Christianity is beginning to spread throughout the empire.  Robert Taylor plays Marcus Vinicius,an influential Roman commander who becomes enthralled with Deborah Kerr, playing Lygia, a new convert to Christianity. Soon after Kerr gives her heartfelt testimony to Marcus, he converts to Christianity. This sparks a serious rift between Marcus and Emperor Nero, played by Peter Ustinov. Nero blames the growing religion for the turmoil within his empire. Nero's response to the newly formed religion is both swift and shocking. The stunning musical score is by Miklos Rozsa.
