Fiction and reality collide when two-time Oscar®-winners Michael Caine and Glenda Jackson star in this dark comedy directed by Joseph Losey (1964's "The Servant"). Tom Stoppard, who won an Oscar® for "Shakespeare in Love" (1998), collaborated with Thomas Wiseman to adapt Wiseman's novel about a writer who imagines his absent wife in a variety of amorous adventures. When she returns from a German vacation followed by hustler Helmut Berger, Caine moves him into the house to see what will happen, with devastating results.
