"Second Chorus" (1940) stars Fred Astaire and Burgess Meredith, as trumpet playing chums Danny O'Neill and Hank Taylor, in an upbeat musical comedy. After playing tunes together in a college band, the two musicians move to New York City, where they compete not only in joining the Archie Shaw Orchestra but also for the affection of the bombshell manager, played by Paulette Goddard.
