The team of writer Burt Kennedy and director Budd Boetticher was behind several great 1950s Westerns; "Seven Men From Now" (1956) is a prime example, a stoic, thoughtful and intelligent revenge movie. Randolph Scott plays the ex-lawman on the trail of the gang of bandits who murdered his wife in a Wells Fargo holdup; along the way, he reluctantly teams up with an old nemesis, played by Lee Marvin. Great dialogue and performances make "Seven Men From Now" an underrated Western neo-classic.
