Everyone's favorite curly-topped cutie Shirley Temple stars in "Stowaway" (1936). Temple plays Ching-Ching, the orphaned daughter of missionaries living in China. Invaders threaten her village and she is sent off to Shanghai. When she loses her guide, she meets American playboy Tommy (Robert Young) and accidentally stows away on a ship headed for San Francisco - the same ship that Tommy happens to be aboard. During her travels, Ching-Ching plays matchmaker to Tommy and Susan (Alice Faye), speaks Chinese, imitates famous stars of the day, and of course finds time for a little song and dance in this light-hearted film.
