Steve McQueen makes his film debut in this horror film about an amoeba-like space creature that attacks a small town. When McQueen and his girlfriend, played by Aneta Corsaut, spot a meteor falling to Earth, they investigate only to find a local farmer with the small blob of protoplasm attached to his arm. As the blob devours the farmer and the doctor who tries to help, Steve and Aneta try to warn the town. Unfortunately, no one chooses to believe the teens' fantastic tale and meanwhile, the "Blob" grows with each victim it consumes.
