The 1920s provide the backdrop for Peter Bogdanovich's 2001 film, a fictitious explanation for the death of silent movie producer Thomas Ince, played by Cary Elwes. The film begins and ends with Ince's funeral, which occurs after he dies during a birthday cruise on media tycoon William Randolph Hearst's yacht, with Hearst being portrayed by Edward Herrmann. It seems that everyone on board wants a fun-filled weekend of debauchery, along with a piece of the billionaire, and so everyone becomes suspect. The all-star cast includes Victor Slezak, Jennifer Tilly, Eddie Izzard, Kirsten Dunst, Joanna Lumley, and Claudia Harrison.
