In the spirit of Louis Malle's "Au Revoir les Enfants" (1987) and Stephen Spielberg's "Schindler's List" (1993), this Emmy-winning documentary captures a magical tale of love and resistance. During World War II, inhabitants of the small French town of Chabannes risked their lives to smuggle 400 Jewish children out of Occupied France. Filmmaker Lisa Gossels returns there with her father and uncle, two of the saved children, to re-create this amazing and inspiring story. Surviving townspeople from that era share their stories as well. Includes children's art gallery, original journal entries, more.
