Keanu Reeves and Jennifer Connelly headline this action-packed epic adapted from the 1951 sci-fi classic of the same name. "The Day The Earth Stood Still (3-Disc Special Edition)" (2008) follows astrobiologist Helen Benson (Connelly) and her stepson, played by Jaden Smith, as they face the possibility of an alien attack to end mankind. Reeves portrays Klaatu, an otherworldly being whose appearance triggers the events that could lead to apocalyptic annihilation. The 3-Disc Special Edition also features mind-blowing effects from director Scott Derrickson ("The Exorcism of Emily Rose"), and appearances by familiar faces such as Jon Hamm, Kathy Bates, and Kyle Chandler.
