    Comments about this product:

I am very happy that at long last to obtain this film for my library. I must have missed it when it came out in VHS. At least I now have it in DVD. The cover is different than my copy, but it is the same movie.

If you have NOT read the book, at least watch this 1959 film version. Millie Perkins stars as Anne Frank. Joseph Schildkraut stars as the father of Anne. This is the ultimate rendering in film. Shelley Winters won an Oscar as best supporting actress, she is mother to the second family in the attic. Ed Wynn got nominated as a unmarried dentist, a late arrival to hiding.

If you or anybody else doesn't know what it was like to be a Jew under the regime of Hitler's Third Reich, watch. Learn some WWII history! Even I suspect that President F.D. Roosevelt was anti-semantic, because he would not admit fleeing Europeans into America. I am ashamed of him in this respect. They would have been valuable citizens, they had modern culture, educated, producing immediately type people, some were wealthy and WASP in appearance. They probably knew the English language too.

Six million died because Hitler was very anti-semantic. Just remember, Christianity came from a Jew! They are our brethren in faith. There is no right or wrong in how to practice religion. Except, killing for your particular brand, like current Islam terrorists, plus Mohammed was not a Jew, so no brotherhood.

Anne Frank gave us a most memorial story. It is history come alive for a a few hours, you spare that much time. I love this movie! Anne began writing in her diary in 1939 when Amsterdam, Holland fell to the Germans. So, this story is celebrating 75th anniversary. Add to your collection and lend this film to family and friends.

Thank you TCM to let me to tell others how much this movie means to me.
